Avoiding external inspiration, Beech Lamp by Terkel Skou Steffensen & Hans Toft Hornemann was designed from scratch by considering only the job at hand: how best to deliver desktop and suspended light in an archetypal package.

"We simply worked with the function of light, and how we use light. We sheltered the light source to make it diffuse, and soft to look at. The angle of the lampshade is made, analysing the way we work, and how we like the light to fall." say Steffensen & Hornemann.
