Potato Family Shelving by Floris Wubben
by Harry / January 21, 2013
Childhood potato figures inspired Floris Wubben's Potato Family shelving - right down to the position of the legs and the shape of each cavity.

Says Wubben, "The construction of these figures is one of the first moments in which a child experiences a material creative process."

The shelving units are made of wood "as it is a material that offers many creative possibilities, just like chestnuts and potatoes does for children." Dutch Fir tree wood was used for the shapes and the legs are made of polished stainless steel.

Potato Family was constructed in collaboration with artist Bauke Fokkema. More at Floris Wubben.
