Reinier de Jong's STEEL chair is actually composed of wood handles from household and garden tools.

The handles of old brooms, rakes, shovels are cleaned and stacked to make the seat and back of the STEEL chair. A cutout on the surface of the handles creates a concave shape for comfort.

The chair can be made from wood handles contributed by the user or from new ones. Handles can also be donated for charity with one euro going to charity for each usable meter of old handles. Via Architonic. Photos: Peter van Dijk.
