Obsidian, obsidian. For Vanity Objects by Jacques-Elie Ribeyron, the French designer has machined blocks of obsidian from Armenia into a mirror, a necklace holder, and a jewellery box.

Obsidian is, of course, the naturally occurring volcanic glass that occurs when a certain type of high silica content lava cools fast.
