Basic mechanical principles and an environmentally thoughtful choice of materials make the Peg Lamp by William McDonald an in all ways minimal task lighting choice.

It's made from raw wood, 100% wool felt and aluminum with illumination by LED.

Adjustability comes via the tension pressure of the aluminum frame, combined with the friction grip of the felt - the boom is simply pinched in place, just like in the old fashioned clothes pins that inspired it.
