Half Cut Glassware by Lee Broom
by Harry / November 8, 2012
Lee Broom's Half Cut uses the crystal stoppers from vintage drinks decanters and transforms them into the bases for a martini, wine and champagne glass.

The stoppers serve both as a functional and decorative element for each glass. The original decanters are individually sourced from antique markets and shops throughout London making each stopper and therefore each glass entirely unique.

Each stopper is polished, cut and then fused with a hand blown lead crystal vessel which forms the glass. It's then etched on the bottom with the signature Lee Broom crest.

Says Broom, "With each vintage drinks decanter that is purchased to create our Decanterlight range, there is always a crystal stopper. These little gems have been gathering dust in our warehouse for years whilst I have been considering unique ways in which to re use them."

"I am delighted that we can finally release this collection, which reinterprets an everyday object while infusing it with a sense of heritage and craftsmanship."

Half Cut will be sold in the UK exclusively at Liberty.
