Controlled drapery? Zieharsofika by Meike Harde, a collection of benches and stools, upends conventional upholstery thinking by letting construction details all hang out.

These clearly well-upholstered items combine foam, elastic bands, and wood bases, in an unfettered and revealing manner that is both challenging to the eye, and cheerful.

Deconstruction and reconfiguration are made somewhat...user-friendly. This young German designer has focused her studies on furniture and industrial design, and design theory.
