Syzygy: Eclipse Lamp by Oskar Peet and Sophie Mensen
Via @architonic, a series of lamps inspired by, and named for, "the sun and its surrounding celestial bodies".
Syzygy is an astronomical name denoting "a straight line configuration of three celestial bodies in a gravitational system," - the collection consists of two table lamps and a wall light model - "each of which demonstrates a particular aspect of the syzygy: transit, occultation and eclipse."
The lamps are on view at the Craft & Scenography exhibition in Basel until July 11, 2012. More at OS ∆ OOS.
