Sinuous grooves on the strap extend across the case and the watch face. Similar to grooves found on Morgante's Megaptera tray design (below), also for Alessi.

Says Morgante, "Here the ribbing of the tray expresses the gentle surface's deformation while optimising its structural rigidity, without increasing unnecessary the sheet metal thickness."
