Living Typography by Nishant Jethi
by Ted Savage / September 9, 2011
Via @designboom, living typography, in which "the entire alphabet and numbers 0-9 are recreated in hollow wooden 3D form, acting as birdhouses."

The design was sparked by the "sharp decline in the number of house sparrows [driven by] the lack of nesting and breeding spaces." The birdhouse characters can be hung as a sign, nameplate or address number, or used individually. More at Nishant Jethi.
