Week'nder Concept House by Flatpak
Via @jetsongreen, a concept configuration of a FlatPak prefabricated home, installed on Madeline Island in Lake Superior. The exterior is a rough-sawn, knotty, stained pine "an somewhat of an experimental application" that is hoped will age well, looking better over time.
The no-cut design includes 2×2 framing and plywood sheets on concrete piers. There is no AC, only cooling by cross-ventilation; heat is provided by a wood-burning stove. It has galvanized steel roofing, a compact, off-the-ground footprint, Energy Star appliances, and water-conserving toilets. FlatPak focuses on prefab components for uniqueness in every home.
