To celebrate the launch of new Marcel Wanders lamps Italian lighting company FLOS is offering limited-edition Wanders-designed tattoos at their New York showroom during ICFF 2011.

The one-of-a-kind tattooing event entitled "Get Lit, Get Ink'd" will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the FLOS showroom at 152 Greene St. at Houston St. on Sunday, May 15th during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City.

Dutch designer Marcel Wanders will offer limited-edition tattoos, inked by Scott Trerrotola of Ritual 13 in New York. In addition, Wanders will sign a limited number of copies of his new book, Interiors, published by Rizzoli.



Says FLOS, "Recently recognized by Freshly Inked Magazine as one of the top New York tattoo artists of 2010/2011, Trerrotola will offer three limited-edition tattoo designs modeled after artistic interpretations of Marcel Wanders' well-known lighting designs for FLOS: Skygarden, Can Can and Chrysalis."

"The Skygarden lamp, introduced in 2009, features baroque detailing which is a trademark of Wanders' design aesthetic; the Can Can and Chrysalis are new designs introduced at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan in May.



"Can Can melds a clean, linear shape with a decorative effect, and Chrysalis, described by Wanders as a 'magic vase', draws inspiration from the amphorae of antiquity."
