Amanda McCavour's Living Room
by Harry / January 28, 2011
Seen @comeuptomyroom, a two dimensional depiction made of thread, 1:1 scale, of artist Amanda McCavour's living room. Her "thread drawings" are made with a sewing machine, sewn into a fabric that then dissolves in water leaving just the thread.

McCavour is interested in the vulnerability of thread, its ability to unravel, and its strength when it is sewn together.

Per CUTMR, "Thinking of rental apartments, of places of temporary or short term stay, McCavour will be drawing thread replicas of items from her previous living room. These drawings, suspended in the hotel room will act as record and tribute to a room that once was."
