Design the World: Braun AB1 Travel Alarm Clock
This post is sponsored by Autodesk. Design the World is a series of posts on the things we actually own and use here at MOCO, as well as what MOCO readers actually own and use.
Today we're featuring a Favorite Design post from Andrew.
Do you have a favorite object or product? Share it with us by uploading a picture and description at mocoloco.com/upload. We may feature your submission in an upcoming Favorite Designs post.
Here's what Andrew wrote in his submission:
Unlike the time of day it reads, my Braun AB1 alarm clock has stayed the same since receiving one as a child in the early nineties. It has remained the same, simplistic face I see at the beginning and close of the day. It greets me at the start of each day with the time on its unobtrusive dial and clean numbers. It is there to say good-bye as I retire for the night, no frills, no extra notices, and no last minute reminders.
In the modern world where nearly every gadget, object, or appliance tells us the time along with a myriad of other options and you are expected to perform an equal number of dizzying activities, it is nice to have something that does one thing. My Braun alarm clock does one thing well, time and time again.

The illustrative sketches you see here were all created by Chris Sweet using Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro because favorite designs, yours and mine, begin with an idea and quite often with the kind of sketches you see here.
