Snake&molting Legwear by Camille Cortet
by Harry / December 22, 2010
Via @Abitare, legwear inspired by animal behaviour from a larger series titled Transformations. The tights are made of a laser cut textile and become textured with the shape of the body. This "second skin" evolves with movement, ages and breaks as does skin after several uses.

Says designer Camille Cortet, "Our skin ages through cycles of molt that we can't notice whereas snakes have to go through exhausting stages in order to escape from their skin that becomes too old and too tight. This behaviour and experience are translated in a body ornament."
