Design the World: Ghost Chair
This post is sponsored by Autodesk.
Design the World is a series of posts on the things we actually own and use here at MOCO LOCO, as well as what MOCO readers actually own and use.
Today we're featuring a Favorite Design post from Nora W.
Here's what Nora had to say about the Philippe Starck Ghost Chair:
For someone who dislikes easily recognizable design, preferring the slighting worn antique over the beautiful yet ubiquitous Mies, Eames, or Breuer I cannot help but break my rules for this chair.
It's singing my song. Perhaps it is because it takes its inspiration from a deliciously ornate design era, yet pairs it down to the most basic idea; or because the lucite material is one that is there and yet not there resulting in a sneaky strong impact.
Who knows? I have given up defending or trying to understand my love for the chair, I mean isn't love blind?

The illustrative sketches you see here were all created by Chris Sweet using Autodesk's Sketchbook Pro because favorite designs, yours and mine, begin with an idea and quite often with the kind of sketches you see here.
