LDF 2010 Translations: Snow White Chair by Alon Meron

One of the highlights of the London Design Festival was the group exhibition Translations, which showcased the inspiration behind each work, along with the finished piece; aiming to show that, "objects are just a link on a chain of objects, and cannot be understood in isolation."

Isreali designer Alon Meron found inspiration in the crumpled metal of wrecked cars for his Snow White chair, made from pine and steel. Meron was intrigued that some people still use their smashed cars and looked for ways to use bent metal in his design.
