Following her Custom Made USA collection, Karen Ryan recently presented a new series called Custom Made in England at Spring Projects in London.




Ryan uses the works as social commentary on the trend of re-use in design; noting that recycling materials is a luxury of the wealthy, but a necessity for the poor.



Using a blend of old wooden furniture, vintage mirrors, fur coats and junk brooches, Ryan has crafted a collection that acts as "a metaphor for careless vanity."
