Via Trendir, a modern farmhouse in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California that "incorporates sustainable features to minimize the home's carbon footprint". The kitchen, above, has an 18 foot long island with a three inch thick countertop made of walnut (cut from a large fallen tree) as well as two large sliding glass doors that together create a 32-foot-wide opening when fully deployed for natural ventilation.
