Dings and Shadows by Ellen Carrey
by sabine7 / January 21, 2014

Ellen Carry's medium is plentiful, yet ephemeral - the ever changing light. Using photograms and Polaroids to create rich, colourful abstract images, Carrey presents a body of work that is at once minimalist and many-faceted. Carrey draws with light, capturing images that represent nothing - at least in the traditional sense of the artistic subject. It is left to the viewer to see what the eye allows: crumpled paper or reflective foil, gemstones, anger, anatomy or even music ...
