What an expressive title for an exhibition of this nature. Snow Day sums up the joy of an unexpected day off school and the elation and abandon of children set free from their daily burdens, as it does the way Josette Urso throws herself into her paintings. Responding to the elements of the season, Urso "responds ... organically, building up forms and paints that seem to dance, meander, and hopscotch their way across the canvas as each relationship reveals itself to her."
Artist: Josette Urso
Snow Day closes tomorrow at Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in New York.
