Red Arc by Angela Kallus
And what might these fine blooms be made of? Angela Kallus uses acrylic paint to sculpt cake-perfect roses to ice her canvas. Kallus' bas-relief garden is home to flowers of varying sizes to create a contained topography, seductive in its lushness. But these blooms of hardened pigment are not the velvety feel we expect and that is where the invitation stops before the teasing goes too far.
