What a beautiful exhibition name - Black is the Beauty of the Brightest Day. A haunting series of large-scale works by Tobias Keene covers ideas such as ceremony, beauty and reliquary and images of faith, purity and sheer loveliness. One auburn-haired girl skips rope before a rose window; another swings against a rose-coloured sky. But there is a sort of reverie about them; it's not all fun and games. Keene says, "I'm fascinated by deconstructing known images and reworking them into ceremonial context."
