New Installation by Joel Shapiro
An installation of colourful, seemingly levitating wooden boards by Joel Shapiro appears to control the space that surrounds it. Although the elements are tightly bound in place from floor to ceiling, they give the impression of flying, falling and dancing - a sort of free fall in a white cube. Playful movement, rather than chaos, is evoked. Shapiro's is the type of installation that is often hard to leave behind.
