The Gatherer by Maggie Butterfield Dickinson
by sabine7 / February 10, 2012

Maggie Butterfield Dickinson paints with thread. Working with photos transferred to cotton canvas, this textile artist uses an overflowing palette of colourful rayon and polyester to create a series of insects. The Gatherer (above) is made up of 43 colours of thread; Otherworld (after the jump) uses 51. Butterfield Dickinson's works are currently featured in Obsession - Hard Twist 6, an exhibition of fibre art at Toronto's Gladstone Hotel.
