Currently on display at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto as part of Obsession - Hard Twist 6, Rob Davidovitz's Rosepath in Brilliant Violet and Red is part of his Woven Paint series. The artist combines traditional hand-weaving with unusual materials, such as extruded acrylic paint, to create colourful wallhangings that delight and challenge the viewer. Once the extruded paint dries, Davidovitz uses it like thread, subverting the idea of more traditional fibre art and textile crafts.
