Road Trip by Mary Heilmann
by sabine7 / January 18, 2012

Mary Heilmann's art practice "overlays the analytical geometries of Minimalism with the spontaneous ethos of the Beat Generation and the influences of American pop culture." An upcoming exhibition, entitled Visions, Waves and Roads, features paintings that are details of the artist's own narrative. One focus is on road trips and shorelines; another is inspired by Modernist master Kazimir Malevich. Malevich Spin references his early 20th century Suprematism. The show also includes video, ceramic sculpture and furniture.

Artist: Mary Heilmann

Visions, Waves and Roads runs 23 February - 5 April 2012 at Hauser & Wirth London, Savile Row.
