PixCell Elk 2 by Kohei Nawa
Kohei Nawa sought out "stuffed" animals and other items online for the PixCell series, only to cover them completely with transparent glass beads. The original object is replaced by "a husk of light" and takes on a new appearance. This new manifestation becomes the "cell of an image." Nawa also uses mixed media such as prisms, expanded polyurethane and silicone oil to synthesize senses and materials, playing perception off reality.
