Penelope Umbrico: Photographs is a delightful book of images created by harvesting pictures used in social media and print marketing. Umbrico creates photo collages out of printed works by using entire images as mere elements within a larger composition. Umbrico's book is a look at how the image typologies found within consumerism and recreation work to seduce us. To be sure, her compilations are even more seductive, not to mention inspirational. This book includes 100 four-colour images as well as a series of essays and excerpts from theoretical works.
