Currently working as an illustrator in London, Spanish-born Ana Montiel delights us with her Visual Mantras, a series of patterns based on colourful geometric shapes. When Montiel is involved in the creation of these patterns, she is completely absorbed. The work, akin to repeating a mantra or feeding a continuous flow of creativity, puts her into an almost meditative state. Many of the patterns have themes that come out of the natural world, as nature is at the root of everything.
