The Sun Plays a Symphony of Color on the Oregon Mountains by Margaret Nielsen
It is difficult to decide whether the psychology behind the work of Margaret Nielsen is too complex or too evident, so the best thing to do is to absorb the images and let them simmer. Sooner or later, meaning will creep out, like a bare leg escaping from within a recliner or a mattress. If a knife stabs the back of a coat you are not wearing, does this mean you have managed to shrug off an attack or are you already a victim? And are the Oregon Mountains what we dream of or are they a distant memory? Are Nielsen's scenarios states of mind or states of being?
