It is hard to tell how much longer it will be before the girls depicted by Mercedes Helnwein will become women and turn their backs on a time of playing at adulthood. Coloured pencils and oil pastels catch these girls mid-emotion or mid-thought. Helnwein's new works make up a show entitled Temptation to be Good, but we see more of the struggle to break out in the other direction.
