In A Row by Jared Small
Jared Small presents Small World, a series of paintings of houses and other related buildings (a barn, a church, a juke joint), alone or grouped, that appear almost as portrait. Each structure, well past its prime, seems to have a personality rather than occupants. An air of sadness lingers, hinting at stories no one wants to tell. Also notable about these paintings are the skyscapes and the dripping paint that bleeds from the grass or the clapboards or the clouds. A strange kind of beauty lives in these works.
