Alvar Aalto Houses by Jari & Sirkkaliisa Jetsonen is nice overview of twenty-six of Aalto's designs for private residences. During his career, Aalto designed over one hundred homes, and this volume presents a good variety that spans standard post-war housing to summer homes to Finnish country manors. For fans of Aalto's industrial design work, there is the added treat of interiors featuring furniture and lighting done for Artek, of course. The book is well laid out and a pleasure for anyone to read, not just diehard followers, especially thanks to a useful sprinkling of Finnish history. Lovely photos.
