When schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe was scheduled to become the first teacher in space, she had plans to teach a lesson while on board the Space Shuttle Challenger entitled Where We've Been, Where We're Going, Why. The shuttle fell apart 73 seconds after the launch; none of the crew survived. Sean Cordeiro and Claire Healy used Lego bricks to depict the event in a series of striking "canvases" shown in an exhibition last year.
