Untitled by Jimi Gleason
by sabine7 / March 3, 2011

How to describe these landscapes of vivid greens, golds and rusts by Jimi Gleason? Hyper-earthy hues create topographies by way of a polychrome coating that brings out the pigment underneath. Paintings or sculptures? Neither, really, as these works are almost writhing forms of life, or fossils trying to come alive once more. No subtlety, no restrictions to hold Gleason, or his colours, back.
