Fiona Bailey uses dyed wool fleece, yarns and embroidery on distressed black and white photographs to create compositions that are part craft, part discarded memory. Bailey "revives" times gone by adding colourful pops of wool to crumpled nature stills; the tangibility of the fibres lends weight to the ephemeral quality of the images. The extra layer provides dimension and the new buds fight the creases for attention. The Botanical Series was recently shown as part of Hard Twist 5: Chroma.
