Super-Spiro-Scribble Density Test by Amanda McCavour
A cross between snowflakes cut from paper and thread flowers, these spirograph drawings brought to life by Amanda McCavour rained down in a torrent from the gallery space ceiling in the hallway of the Gladstone Hotel. McCavour uses a fabric that dissolves as a base for her words in thread so that the layers can be built up into an item that can stand alone. In her words, "Tracing actions and environments through a process of repetition, translation and dissolving, I hope to trace absence. My work is a process of making as a way of tracing and preserving things that are gone, or slowly falling apart. "
