French Milk by Lucy Knisley is a graphic travelogue that recounts the daily delights of a trip to Paris. A mother and daughter celebrate their 50th and 22nd birthdays while renting a flat in Paris for over a month. This is the illustrated journal at its finest; Knisley uses her craft to take us along in her suitcase. The comics are occasionally broken up by a few photographs. Do not expect any great revelations or inspired plot twists: it is what it is, a simple yet detailed memoir in pictures and words. It's enough to make you wish your first time in Paris was this long and lovely.
