Working without sketches, the We Make Carpets team of Stijn van der Vleuten, Marcia Nolte and Bob Waardenburg uses unusual materials to create carpets that are temporary installations given the nature of their composition. The latest offering is the 470m2 Brick Carpet that has been created as an outdoor installation for Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven this week. Simply by placing a variety of paving bricks in a carpet-like pattern, We Make Carpets has produced a unique ground-covering that certainly mimics, from an aerial view, more conventional floor-coverings
