Another artist drawing motifs from the barrage of daily media images is Tanja Selzer whose current exhibition is entitled Give Us Your Red. Fuchsia, shown above, is certainly a striking example of the type of lurid action and drama that gets our attention. We seek out controversy and confrontation, even in more nature-like settings, to get and keep our attention. Humans and animals live out their dramas in Selzer's paintings and the viewer is left to fill in the details to the narratives.
