Montreal ceramicist France Goneau combines tiles of varying hues with delicate shell-like forms that add relief. The tones harmonize or offer enough contrast that further dimension is added, highlighting the details and the delicate nature of the work. The top layers evoke items such as bones or skeletal matter, corals, fossils, sand dollars, lilypads and other such organic shapes and forms we find in nature. Goneau will soon be presenting work that is the result of a three-month stay in Japan.
