Onions by Ira Fox
by sabine7 / August 19, 2010

Ira Fox's Still Lifes series was inspired by a black and white negative of a sunflower - from there, more vegetation became involved. Fox takes plants and produce and first depicts them in a negative light before digitally painting them in glorious colour. Has cabbage ever looked so voluptuous? Have you seen onions this poetic? Feel the coolness of the mint. All sensations that are good or even hinted at are heightened, as the play of natural patterns is brought out by Fox's technique.
