When artist Beverly Kedzior learned that a genetic disorder called Fragile X was part of her family history, her long love of cartoons kicked in. While researching medical books, Kedzior seized upon images that reminded her of the comics she grew up with; soon some iterations of the medical illustrations were making their way into her work. Borrowing from magazine advertising, animated film and medical textbooks, Kedzior creates pop paintings that are somewhat The Jetsons Meet Kandinsky.
