What would you choose for your last supper if you knew it would be your last? James Reynolds' Last Suppers series is a collection of nine photos of meals requested by inmates on Death Row before their execution. Gory? Maybe. Plaintive? Definitely. A large platter of fruit or one olive? Four cones of your favorite ice cream or a fried chicken dinner? Eggs, a donut or just some smokes? Food for thought.
Some selections from this body of work by James Reynolds will be shown at Palate, opening May 22 at Scion Installation L.A. Gallery and running through June 12, 2010.
