Block letters spell out words and phrases that are in contrast to the seemingly banal landscapes underneath to scream out a message that keeps the viewer peering in for longer than imagined. This retrospective of text paintings and does indeed increase respect for this clever, cheeky artist simply by collecting his oeuvre of juxtapositions and instant messaging in one convenient place. Maybe Now I'll Get The Respect I So Richly Deserve is an elegantly produced book of engaging work.
