Of Many by Jaclyn Quaresma
by sabine7 / April 1, 2010

The installation starts out as a gallery floor of 1900 hand-cast tiles. It evolves with the weight of each step taken within the space, as visitors participate in this transition. The white 12" x 12" tiles are brittle and uneven; they crack readily in both destruction and creation. Of Many is a site-specific installation by Jaclyn Quaresma, an exploration of themes of spatial and temporal transition and the social life of a space.
