Athens-based Alexandros Vasmoulakis is known for work that appears in the streets as well as the galleries. His mixed media paintings, in which struggle or conflict is apparent, are character-based and reflect the artist's many moods, in turn representative of human nature. Love, desire, seduction and hate battle for position in the various dimensions found within his work. The white teeth and wide grins are no reassurance for the viewer who only feels suspicion and anxiety evoked by the laughter.
