Jonathan Monaghan's work includes an array of digital sculptures, prints and animations that have a definite sense of the macabre about them. French Penguin is a short animation set in an architectural space not unlike a cathedral where a penguin bides its time before acting. The colours, light and detail of the work combine to produce a feeling of discomfort and unease. The viewer's trepidation turns to helplessness. Shown are stills from the 3D animated HD film.
