Michael Massaia specializes in "one shot" candid scenes of New York City and New Jersey life and landscape. Massaia's two Polaroid SX-70 series focus on street life, with a particular emphasis on the yellow cabs and pedestrians that give colour and breath to the concrete jungle. His techniques give the city a softer, retro air that is almost romantic. Purpose is captured in the shadows, the pace changes at the end of the day and businessmen are caught at a standstill.
